Robotics Engineer

The role

Our client is building a group-level AI Center of Excellence to set the technical direction for artificial intelligence across its operating companies. This role puts AI into physical systems — perception, control and autonomy running on real hardware in manufacturing, infrastructure and heavy engineering environments. It suits an engineer who has shipped robotic systems that worked outside a laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Autonomy stack: Develop perception, control and autonomy for robotic and autonomous industrial systems, end to end.
• Simulation to reality: Build simulation environments and close the gap between simulated performance and field behaviour.
• Deployment on constrained compute: Run inference within the power, latency and thermal budgets of on-device hardware.
• Learned and classical control: Integrate learned policies with classical planning and control, and know where each belongs.
• Sensing: Work across lidar, depth and stereo cameras, IMU and force–torque sensing, including calibration and fusion.
• Safety and reliability: Establish field testing, safety cases and reliability practice for systems operating near people and plant.

Profile

A career built in robotics and autonomous systems rather than adjacent to them

Systems delivered into production, field trials or commercial deployment — not demonstrations alone

Depth in at least one of manipulation, mobile robotics or autonomous industrial equipment

Strong C++ and Python, with real-time systems experience

Exposure to industrial or manufacturing environments and their constraints is a distinct advantage

Education

A postgraduate degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, computer science or a related discipline, from a leading institution in the United States or India.

Evidence of depth

Assessed against patents, publication, sustained specialisation, and attributable contribution to systems in production.
